It is time to subsidize the People instead of the things
The Government of Indonesia increased the domestic fuel price recently. They intend to cut back on the fuel oil consumption and electricity by converting the energy, electrical tariff calculation with incentives as well as the arrangement of electrical consumption at the government offices. That's what Economic Affairs Coordinator, Minister Boediono, states to ANTARA NEWS Jakarta. This all is to grant of compensation to poor people.(related news)
Nice thoughts! The government of Indonesia is now releasing the BLT aid program to give certain amounts to poor families starting with the amount of IDR 300.000,-(three hundred thousands) every month also IDR 500.000,- for the university/college students per semester. Another Nice move guys.
As we all now the number of poverty increased since the 1998 economic collapse, it brings joy to hear this kind of movement from the government. Indonesia is the only nation in Asia that is still not recovered up till today.
As they march on with their campaign slogan " It is the time to directly subsidize "the people" instead of "the things"...I see a bright future for this loving country. I really do not know whether this program will have its success..but I finally can say at least there is something going on towards the restoration of the economy in the country. as long as the government stay in course with their vision.
But...how about the corruption? As we all know that the greatest are inside the government itself? how about the tax environment, especially for all those rich people? that up till today still can play around wth their taxes. It is true that they will have to pay more to fuel up their cars, but they still manage to escape from their obligation for paying taxes to the government. How in world can that be?
I wish this government all the best..may God bless Indonesia
